When I took the class, Curriculum and Intervention for Students with Special Needs taught by Chris Lorenz at CSU, I was a little confused at what joint attention meant, and how to teach it to children with autism challenges. So when the opportunity arose to do an independent research project, I honed in on this subject. It is a simple concept, yet poses perplexing challenges when trying to teach it. I hope to use what I have learned when I enter the field during my practicum and student teaching and beyond.
